# Journey of Discipleship: Growing in Christ, Leading Others by Andi Becker  ## Let’s reflect on our today’s topic with a prayer: Heavenly Father, we come before you today with open hearts, ready to receive your word and be transformed by your Spirit. As we delve into the gift of discipleship, guide us in understanding its significance in our lives and inspire us to actively engage in this journey of faith. In Jesus' name, Amen. Greetings, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ! Today, we embark on an exciting topic that holds immense importance in our spiritual growth: discipleship. Just as Jesus called His disciples to follow Him and spread the Good News, we are also commissioned to walk alongside others, guiding them to a deeper relationship with our Lord. Through discipleship, we discover the joy of growing in Christ and the privilege of leading others on this transformative journey. ### The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20): * Reflecting on Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations. * Understanding the significance of baptism and the triune nature of God. * Embracing our role in fulfilling the Great Commission. ### The Model of Jesus' Discipleship: * Examining Jesus' relationship with His disciples as a blueprint for our own discipleship journeys. * Learning from His teaching, love, and sacrificial example. * Embracing the call to imitate Christ in our interactions with others. ### Investing in Others (2 Timothy 2:2): * Understanding the multiplication effect of discipleship. * Recognizing the importance of passing on our faith to future generations. * Discovering practical ways to invest in the lives of others and equip them as disciples. ### Growing as Disciples: * Nurturing our personal relationship with Christ through prayer, Scripture study, and worship. * Seeking accountability and fellowship within the community of believers. * Embracing a lifestyle of continual learning and growth in our faith. ## Let’s pray! Gracious Father, we thank you for the gift of discipleship. May our hearts be filled with a deep desire to follow you wholeheartedly and to lead others closer to you. Empower us with your Holy Spirit, that we may faithfully fulfill the Great Commission and invest in the lives of those around us.
