# The Importance of Active Participation in the Church Community

Good morning/evening, brothers and sisters in Christ! Today, I want to talk to you about the significance of letting every member of our church community be an active part of it. We are called to be a body of believers, each with unique skills and abilities, working together to advance the Kingdom of God. By harnessing the talents within our church, we can not only strengthen our community but also collaborate and create opportunities for growth and prosperity. Let us dive into the Word of God to understand the importance of active participation and utilizing our skills for all of us.
I. The Body of Christ and Its Many Parts (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul uses the analogy of the human body to describe the Church. Just as a body is made up of various parts, each with its unique function, so is the Church. We are all members of one body, and each of us has been gifted by the Holy Spirit for a specific purpose. When every part of the body functions harmoniously, the entire body flourishes. It is essential, therefore, that we recognize and value the diverse skills and abilities present among us.
II. Identifying and Utilizing Individual Skills (Exodus 35:30-35) In Exodus 35, we find a beautiful example of a community coming together and using their skills for a common purpose. Bezalel and Oholiab were filled with the Spirit of God, and they possessed unique abilities in craftsmanship. They were called upon to oversee the construction of the Tabernacle, and they gathered others who had various skills to join them. This passage reminds us that God has given each of us specific skills and talents, and it is our responsibility to use them for His glory. By recognizing and utilizing the skills within our church community, we can accomplish great things.
III. Collaborating for Business Opportunities (Proverbs 27:17) Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." When we collaborate and work together, we become stronger. Our church community should be a place where we encourage and support one another, not just spiritually, but also in our businesses and endeavors. By discovering the skills and businesses within our congregation, we can foster collaboration and create opportunities for growth. When we unite our efforts, we can increase the income and prosperity of every member involved.
IV. Building a Community of Love and Support (Romans 12:9-13) In Romans 12, Paul provides practical instructions on how to live as a Christian community. He emphasizes the importance of genuine love, hospitality, and serving one another. When we allow every member to be an active part of our church community, we create an atmosphere of love, support, and encouragement. By utilizing our skills and working together, we not only strengthen the church but also extend the Kingdom of God beyond its walls.
Conclusion: As we conclude, let us remember that the Church is not a passive institution; it is a living body with diverse members. God has blessed each of us with unique skills and talents, and it is our duty to actively participate in the life of the church community. By utilizing our abilities, collaborating with one another, and creating business opportunities, we can uplift and prosper together. Let us be a community that embraces and celebrates the contributions of every member, for when we do, we reflect the beauty of the Body of Christ and bring glory to God. May we commit ourselves to building a church that empowers and encourages all to serve according to their God-given abilities. Amen.
